Multiple vehicle accidents stall traffic during weekend

Many weekend travelers of Interstate 10 in Orange County and across the Louisiana state line experienced delays resulting from two separate multi-vehicle accidents July 17, Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Stephanie Davis reported.

DPS investigates fatal accident in Orange County

A fatal accident in Orange County June 8 claimed the life of a Jasper resident, Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper David Hendry reported in a news release.

According to Hendry, Orange County troopers responded to the scene of a two-vehicle accident on State Highway 62 at the intersection of North Ridge Drive at about 8:30 a.m. The preliminary crash investigation indicated a 2005 International truck was stopped and facing north on S.H. 62 waiting to turn left onto North Ridge Drive when it was struck from behind by a 2014 Dodge van, Hendry stated.

Teen passenger of pickup truck injured in wreck with 18-wheeler

A teenage passenger of a car involved in an accident in Orange County on June 6 is recovering from injuries after the 16-year-old driver of the pickup truck in which she was riding reportedly turned illegally in front of an 18-wheeler causing the big rig to strike the vehicle.

A Vidor woman clinging to life in a local hospital succumbed to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. The Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed that 27-year-old Vidor resident Kadie Odom died May 24 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash that occurred on May 22.
