The turkey is, and should be, the main event of your Thanksgiving meal, but without complementing the juicy bird with some delicious sides, your meal won’t be complete.

What is a Thanksgiving feast with bread on your food spread? Don’t just go to the store and buy the ones you stick in your over for a few minutes when you can spend less and make the dough, which also taste much better. There are soft dinner no knead rolls that are waiting to be buttered. This recipe makes 12 rolls.

Beer Can Turkey

Add heat and flavor to your bird this Thanksgiving. Free up your oven for cooking sides and desserts while the turkey is barbecuing. The beer keeps the turkey plump and juicy while the smoked paprika, cumin and spices give it delicious flavor.

1 Tbsp smoked Spanish paprika

A domestic disturbance between a man and a woman in Beaumont turned fatal, BPD PIO Cody Guedry said in a release.

Beaumont Police officers were called to the 5100 block of Gober Road for a stabbing on Thursday, Nov. 24. During their investigation, they found a physical altercation led to the victim being stabbed. The victim, Anthony Bernard, a 31-year-old Beaumont man, was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

A year ago, my family went through the annual ritual of asking me what I wanted for Christmas. As it was with my father, they had a problem: What do you buy for a person who needs and wants nothing? After having told my wife that there was nothing I wanted, I called her one day and said, “I found something that I want!” Her response was, “Buy it.” I told her that it was not inexpensive and she repeated, “Buy it.”

Hunger and Homelessness Week is held each year the week before Thanksgiving, from Nov. 15-23 this year, to promote the effort to end hunger and homelessness, also affording an opportunity to examine the problem of poverty in Texas.

Turkey-clad joggers will run through the streets of downtown Beaumont Thanksgiving morning for the Triangle Therapeutics Turkey Trot. The race begins at 8 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 27, at the Beaumont Event Centre.

The Beaumont Turkey Trot is one of many held around the country on Thanksgiving morning. Sea Rim Striders, a local club for runners and walkers, organizes the Beaumont event every year. This year Triangle Therapeutics is the title sponsor for the second time.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a catastrophic major accident on Interstate 10 (mile marker 835) near Hamshire, Texas, on Nov. 22. The accident, which happened at around 8 a.m., appears to have involved more than 150 cars in an accident scene with numerous injuries. Texas Department of Public Safety troopers, Jefferson County Sheriff Department deputies, and medical personnel responded to the crash scene.
