On Thursday, May 26, officers with the Vidor Police Department served a felony warrant for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

According to a May 31 news release from VPD Chief Rod Carroll, Rory Clifford Ellis, a convicted felon, was previously found in possession of a firearm on January 19, by VPD after a call for service.

“Through a joint effort between VPD and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), the case was presented to a federal grand jury and Ellis was indicted on May 11 for that offense,” Carroll reported. “If convicted, Ellis could face up to 10 years imprisonment.”
