19th Annual Mardi Gras celebration in Orange

The Orange Chamber of Commerce and CVB will join forces to host their 19th annual Mardi Gras celebration Fri., Feb. 18 and Sat., Feb. 19 at the Riverside Pavilion (708 Simmons Dr.) near the city’s boat ramp.

The festival opens at 4 p.m. on Friday with live music, DJ, food and drink vendors plus the Flashback Friday ‘70s Parade at 6:30 p.m. Scheduled to perform are Chubby Carrier (7 p.m.) and Corey Ledet Zydeco (9 p.m.).

Gates will open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday with plenty of kids’ activities including a carnival and Munchkin Parade at 2 p.m.

Live music will be provided by Osmosis Jones at 2 p.m., followed by The Ruxpins at 2 p.m. and Flava Band at 8 p.m.

The Krewe of Krewe’s Grand Mardi Gras Parade, which features creatively decorated and illuminated floats, begins at 6:30 p.m. Parade routes have changed – both parades will start on Simmons Drive at the boat ramp, then turn right to Green Avenue, left on Eighth Street, left on Front Avenue, left on First Street, right on Green Avenue and left on Simmons Drive back to the boat ramp.
