The Boomtown Film and Music Festival returns to downtown Beaumont on Friday, May 12 and Saturday, May 13, at multiple venues including the Jefferson Theatre (345 Fannin St.), the Art Museum of Southeast Texas (500 Main St.), Texas Energy Museum (600 Main St.) and Jazz & Jokes Club (695 Orleans St.). It’s a celebration of movies and music in Southeast Texas that includes independent films, live music performances, special guest speakers and more.

Special guest speakers are Lynda Reiss (“Stranger Things,” “S.W.A.T.,” “American Beauty,” “Four Rooms,” “Reality Bites,” “Drunk History,” “True Detective”), Scott A. Reeder (“Walker Texas Ranger,” “Machete,” “Friday the 13th,” “Pitch Perfect,” “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning,” “Necessary Roughness,” Daddy’s Dyin’…Who’s Got the Will,” “NOS4A2,” “Friday Night Lights”), stuntman/fight coordinator Woody Almazan, John Frederick (“NCIS: New Orleans), plus female film makers Molly Vernon and Brooke H. Cellars.

This year’s Boomtown Film & Music Festival is presented by the Boomtown Film Society and the Southeast Texas Arts Council, with support by the Texas Commission on the Arts.

The Boomtown Film Society is a volunteer-run nonprofit organization that has worked to promote film making and appreciation in Southeast Texas for over 15 years.
