Southeast Texas native and celebrated New York City vocalist Amber Martin will return home Saturday, Jan. 14, for her tribute show, “Amber Martin in Janis: Undead” at Madison’s at 9 p.m. Reserved tickets are $25 and can be purchased by calling (409) 924-9777 or at Madison’s, which is located at 4020 Dowlen Road in Beaumont.
Born in Port Arthur, Martin is a NYC star who has been paying homage to her very own hometown acid-blues legend, and world icon, psychedelic rock queen Janis Joplin for more than 20 years. Martin will showcase the beloved singer’s greatest songs including “Me and Bobby McGee,” “Piece of My Heart,” “Cry Baby,” “Down on Me,” “Ball and Chain,” “Summertime” and “Mercedes Benz” as well as Martin’s personal favorites, “Maybe,” “Kozmic Blues” and “Move Over.” Within this musical journey, she will also tell magical stories from Joplin’s amazing life and how they intertwine with her own.
