City of Port Arthur to discuss EDC administration

The Port Arthur City Council and Port Arthur EDC will conduct an in-person joint special meeting Jan. 25 at 5 p.m. at the City Council Chamber, located on the fifth floor of City Hall, 444 Fourth Street. The meeting will also be held via telephone and videoconference for those who would like to attend remotely.

A quorum of Port Arthur City Council and Port Arthur EDC will discuss the position of the Chief Executive Officer of the PAEDC, and a proposed lease agreement between the City of Port Arthur and PAEDC regarding office space at 549 Fourth Street.

There will also be a proposed contract for the provision of administration services by the city discussed at the meeting.

Not related to the EDC is the agenda item of discussing a proposed grievance process for complaints of harassment and appeals of discipline as an addendum to the City of Port Arthur’s Code of Ordinances.

An executive session will also be held to deliberate the appointment of a Chief Executive Officer for the PAEDC and to deliberate the appointment, duties and responsibilities for the PAEDC.
