Four teens injured in Silsbee speeding crash

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) investigated a single-vehicle crash on Neyland Road, just north of Mormon Road, near Silsbee on Jan. 5.

The preliminary investigation indicates that, at approximately 4:50 p.m., a 2004 GMC pickup was traveling south. It is reported that the driver was traveling at a speed that was unsafe and traveled off the road to the left into the east ditch and overturned.

The driver, a 16-year-old juvenile from Silsbee, and three passengers, were transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment. Passengers included three juveniles, ages 14, 16 and 17. The driver was cited for traveling at an unsafe speed.

DPS reported there was no additional information available.
