HARDIN COUNTY| ESD No. 6 selects Acadian Ambulance Texas to operate as sole provider

Effective Aug. 15, Acadian Ambulance Texas is operating as the sole emergency and non-emergency transport provider for Hardin County Emergency Services District (ESD) No. 6, covering the Silsbee ISD boundaries, announced Matt Delaney, president of Hardin County ESD No. 6.
“Having an ambulance provider in Hardin County ESD No. 6 was and is a very high priority for our board of directors,” said Dulany in a press release. “We are pleased to announce that Acadian Ambulance has been chosen to fill this role. A contract with Acadian Ambulance was signed on August 16, 2022, to ensure that ambulance services are available 24/7. Our goal is to make sure that our citizens have the best when it comes to fire protection, medical, and rescue service.”
Acadian Ambulance Texas has operated as one of the EMS providers in Hardin County since 2009. The move to having a single EMS provider benefits residents as it allows for better response times and accountability.
“We are honored that Hardin County ESD No. 6 has made the decision to have a sole EMS provider. We will continue to provide the best service to the residents of Hardin County, whether it’s emergency treatment and transport, or non-emergency transportation,” said Acadian Ambulance Regional Vice President Eric Thibodeaux. “We look forward to maintaining a strong relationship with Mr. Dulaney and the members of the ESD No. 6 board as we fulfill our contract.”
The Silsbee Fire Department was established in 1938 and In 1984, Hardin County ESD No. 6 was formed. ESD No. 6 is responsible for a population of 16,900 covering 180 square miles.   The ESD currently services the district from five fire stations and is currently beginning construction on a new central fire station.   
In the press release, Dulany stated ESD 6 strives to continually improve the quality of emergency services which include: fire suppression, emergency medical care, hazardous materials mitigation, emergency management, and specialized rescue. 
“We are also passionately committed to protect and reduce the losses of life and property; to promote the health, safety, and well being of the citizens of the community; and to reduce damage to the environment due to fires, hazardous materials, natural disasters, and other emergencies caused by acts of man and nature. When our assistance is needed, we will strive to render the fastest and most efficient response for the preservation of human life, the alleviation of suffering, preservation of the environment, and the protection of property,” stated Dulany.  
Founded in 1971, Acadian Ambulance provides emergency and non-emergency medical transportation to 35 Texas counties and the Dallas, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio metro areas. The company is owned by its employees through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan and is one of 11 agencies in Texas accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services.
