Two sisters were arrested on felony burglary charges of a Fred store, according to Tyler County Sheriff Bryan Weatherford.

Weatherford reported on Oct. 17 at about 11:20 p.m. Tyler County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a burglary alarm at the Country Corner Store. When deputies arrived on scene they found the store burglarized.

TCSO contacted the store owner, who reported several thousands of dollars missing, along with cigarettes and vape products.

Deputies obtained evidence during the investigation, including video footage that linked the burglary to a former employee.

They went to a residence off County Road 4620 and spoke to Haley Knighten, 21, and Jamie Knighten, 17. Deputies gained information linking the two females to the burglary and recovered the missing money and merchandise near the crime scene.

Haley and Jamie Knighten were arrested and transported to the Tyler County Jail, and charged with felony burglary of a building. Justice of the Peace Trish Ford set bonds at $7,500 and $5,000, respectively.

Both sisters were released on bail.
