Source: BISD to name Chargois as new super

Unless things change before next week, after interviewing two internal candidates this past Tuesday, March 27 – Timothy Chargois and Shirley Bonton – trustees with the Beaumont Independent School District will call a meeting to announce they are selecting Chargois to be the replacement for outgoing superintendent Carrol Thomas, sources have confirmed.

Beaumont man nabbed stealing metal

On Thursday morning, March 29,  Beaumont Police responded to 5250 College, Commercial Metal, in reference to a theft in progress in which an employee reported that a man was  taking metal and placing it through a hole in the fence. Officers from 1st and 4th watch quickly responded to the location and set up a perimeter around the property.

The Long March - Keystone XL pipeline struggle continues on multiple fronts

Covering the ongoing saga that is the Keystone XL pipeline over the past two years calls to mind the old proverb said to come from India about six blind men examining an elephant. Their perceptions depend on which part of the pachyderm they touch – a pillar, a rope, a tree branch, a hand fan, etc. Each description is correct in a way, but their collective efforts fail to capture the totality of the elephant.
