Vidor voters resoundingly rejected a $73.5 million school bond proposed to build a new high school at a new location in the city.

Approximately 60 percent of voters said “no” to the proposition, while about 40 percent marked their ballots in favor of the measure on May 6. The measure would have caused an annual increase in property taxes, 40 cents for every $100 not provided for by homestead exemptions. VISD estimates the average annual increase would be about $180.
