Local EMTs and other participants received tactical SWAT training Tuesday, Feb. 26, to coach them in how to react in violent, volatile situations. As winter weather slowly recedes from Southeast Texas and spring takes its place, the city of Beaumont is doing a little pre-spring cleaning in areas of the city most affected by trash and other litter as part of the statewide Texas Trash Off.

A once outgoing and precocious pre-teen is now disenchanted with the life that centers around her education, the product of bullying allowed to run amok, according to the child’s mother, Coretta Bean.
