Vidor Police responded after an auto accident on I-10 near FM 1132 occurred the morning of Thursday, Oct. 11.

Texas Department of Transportation stated that the right lane of Rainbow Bridge on the Port Arthur side is closed temporarily due to water over the road from high tides.  Hurricane Michael is currently impacting Florida and has caused higher tides than normal for Southeast Texas.    Highway 87 on Bolivar Pennisula was also closed due to high tides on Tuesday, Oct. 9.

According to a statement from the City of Nederland, the Homecoming Parade route will be changed this year due to safety concerns of the Parade participants as a result of the on-going Nederland Avenue project construction. The Parade will start in front of Central Middle School and travel along Boston Avenue to North 12th Street, will turn north onto 12th Street to Detroit Avenue, and will end at the intersection of Detroit and North 12th Street. The Parade commences at 4 p.m. on Friday, October 12th.

On Sunday, Oct. 7 at approximately 6:45 a.m., Officers with the Port Arthur Police Department responded to an aggravated robbery that just occurred at the M&D Grocery located at 1701 Memorial Boulevard. A male black suspect entered the store armed with a handgun and demanded money.  The suspect then fled on foot and was unable to be located.  The Criminal Investigations Division is investigating this incident.

 All westbound traffic lanes of I-10 in Orange County have reopened following an early morning crash at mile marker 877 in Orange.
