A deceased woman was found near South Levee Rd. in Port Arthur, Wendesday, June 12.

According to a press release, at 4:37 p.m. Port Arthur Police Officers responded to the 2900 block of MLK to meet with a citizen who claimed they found a deceased person. Officers were taken to the area near South Levee Rd. and located a deceased woman. The area was secured and members of the Port Arthur Criminal Investigations Unit are processing the scene with assistance from the Jefferson County Crime Lab.

Two Beaumont men, 22-year-old Kendrick Malbrough and 19-year-old Jaquavian Mayberry, were arrested on multiple charges in Beaumont on Wednesday, June 13.

Jakarius Wilson

Wednesday, June 13, at 3:55 a.m., a Beaumont police officer was patrolling the 2300 block of North 21st Street when he saw two males burglarizing a white Dodge Ram pickup truck. Both males attempted to flee but the officer was able to catch Jakarius Wilson, a 17-year-old Beaumont resident. The second male was not apprehended. He is a black male, approximately 5-foot-8 and 180 pounds. He was wearing red shorts and may go by the name “Trey.”

Jakarius was transported to Jefferson County Jail and booked in for burglary of a vehicle.

Jose Antonio Quiroga, Baytown Police Department

Baytown’s Jose Quiroga, 42, pleaded guilty to federal drug trafficking violations that allege he conspired to bring drugs to Beaumont and neighboring states on Tuesday, June 12, according to information from the office of U.S. Attorney Joseph D. Brown.

Information presented in court and provided by the U.S. Attorney’s Office showed that Quiroga served as a narcotics and bulk currency courier for a drug trafficking organization led by Eugenio Cerda.
