Another Beaumont firefighter was taken to a Beaumont emergency room for treatment of a heat-related illness as the result of battling a blaze at a Beaumont residential structure on Aug. 11, Beaumont Fire-Rescue reports. That makes the third time a Beaumont firefighter has been taken to the emergency room for heat-related illness within a week's time.

At approximately 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2015, Beaumont Fire Rescue units responded to a structure fire at 1676 Pauline. When firefighters arrived, they found flames visible in one room of the home. Firefighters were able to make a quick attack and contain the fire to the front portion of the house. No one was home when firefighters arrived, and there were no injuries to firefighters. The cause of the fire has been determined to be deliberate, and a suspect has been identified. The investigation is continuing at this time.

Investigators looking into a blaze at a local apartment believe a child playing with a cigarette lighter was the likely culprit responsible for initiating the fire.

Beaumont firefighters were dispatched to a reported apartment fire in the 900 block of Florida Avenue at approximately 3:40 p.m. on May 9, reports Beaumont Fire-Rescue. When they arrived, they discovered a bedroom on fire in the upstairs apartment. According to a news release, firefighters were quickly able to extinguish the fire.

An unattended pot on a stovetop of a local apartment is believed to be responsible for a fire at the residence on May 8, Beaumont Fire-Rescue reports.

According to a news release from Beaumont Fire-Rescue, at approximately 11:34 a.m., units responded to a reported structure fire in the 4900 block of Highland Avenue. When firefighters arrived, they found an apartment building with heavy smoke coming from one apartment. Firefighters were able to make a quick attack and confine the fire to the kitchen of the single apartment.

Beaumont firefighters doused a blaze at a local apartment complex on April 27 that reportedly started in the kitchen of a residence.

According to a news release from Beaumont Fire-Rescue, units responded to 6040 Alpine Circle to a report of smoke coming from an apartment at the complex there. Upon arrival, they found heavy smoke coming from an upstairs apartment. Firefighters forced entry into the apartment and found the kitchen area involved by fire. They were able to quickly extinguish the fire, reports Beaumont Fire-Rescue.

Beaumont firefighters battled a residential blaze that investigators believe was caused by an electrical short on Easter Sunday, Beaumont Fire-Rescue reports.

According to a news release from the fire department, firefighters responded to the structure fire in the 5400 block of Combs Drive at approximately 5:45 p.m. Upon arrival at the location, they found the back wall of a home in flames. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire and confine the fire damage to a small area, but there was significant smoke damage to the rest of the house.

Investigators are searching for the suspect or suspects responsible for a fire in Beaumont on March 31, reports Beaumont Fire-Rescue.

According to a news release, Beaumont firefighters responded to a report of a house on fire at 1405 Pipkin Street on Tuesday. Upon arrival, they discovered a rear bedroom involved by fire. They entered the dwelling and were able to extinguish the fire quickly.

Firefighters doused a blaze at a home in Beaumont the morning of March 24 but not before the fire caused extensive damage to the residence.

According to a news release, just after 8:00 a.m., Beaumont Fire-Rescue units responded to a structure fire in the 5300 block of Heatherwood Drive. When firefighters arrived, they found flames licking out through the roof of the home. The lone occupant was able to escape without injury before firefighters arrived, but there was heavy fire damage to the attic and roof of the home.
