A 41-year-old, male gunshot victim was pronounced deceased the early morning of Sunday, Dec. 3, according to a press release from Port Arthur Police Department.

The victim was found after Port Arthur Police responded to the 400 block of Procter Street in reference to a shooting. After arriving they found the victim in the 400 block of Fort Worth Avenue, from there he was transported to The Southeast Texas Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased due to his injuries. Port Arthur Police Detectives are currently handling the investigation.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office reported that, two Greek shipping companies, Avin International LTD, and Nicos I.V. Special Maritime Enterprises, pleaded guilty yesterday in federal court in Beaumont to charges stemming from several discharges of oil into the waters of Texas ports by the oil tanker M/T Nicos I.V., announced Assistant Attorney General Jeffrey Bossert Clark for the Justice Department’s Environment and Natural Resources Division and United States Attorney Joseph D. Brown for the Eastern District of Texas.

Port Arthur Police officers with the help of the Jefferson County warrant division arrested 69-year-old OC Thomas on Nov. 21, for the October murder of Michael Lynn Thomas, 56 of Port Arthur. 

Information from PAPD shows Michael Thomas was shot in the torso Oct. 24 at Fabric Care WAashateria on 25th Street in Port Arthur. At the time, he was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Bond for OC Thomas is set at $1.5 million.

A man was shot in twice in the driveway of a home in the 2200 block of 62ndStreet in Port Arthur on the night of Friday, Nov. 16.

A man was robbed and shot in the 1500 block of Peek Avenue in Port Arthur on Nov. 16.

A man and woman were robbed outside of a residence in the 2200 block of Robinhood Avenue in Port Arthur the night of Thursday, Nov. 15. 

According to a press release from Port Arthur Police, the robbery took place when a group of men armed with handguns approached the victims and demanded they exit their vehicle. The robbers then took one victim's money and stole the vehicle, with it being recovered shortly after. 

This incident is currently being investigated by the Criminal Investigations Unit.

Officers with the Port Arthur Police Department (PAPD) have arrested and charged a teen suspect with murder related to the March 4 shooting death of 18-year-old Kevonn J. Washington, who was found deceased at an apartment complex having suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers took 18-year-old James Earl Holloway into custody at approximately 8:20 p.m. on Nov. 13. Holloway was arrested on suspicion that he shot and killed Washington at Lakeview Palms Apartments, located at 5200 Gulfway Dr., earlier this year.

Port Arthur Police located a 28-year-old man with a gunshot wound in his leg/thigh area near the Pebble Creek Apartments in the 4200 block of Jimmy Johnson Boulevard. 

According to a press release from PAPD, the victim told Police that he was robbed of personal property at gunpoint while exiting a vehicle.  After surrendering his property, he was then shot by the one or more suspects.

A 46-year-old man was found on the ground near his truck in the 1900 block of 18th street with a gunshot to the leg by Port Arthur Police Department the night of Thursday, Nov. 9.
