The Beaumont Art League will open its newest exhibit, “Lazy Days of Summer,” with an artist reception. The exhibition will feature many Southeast Texas artists creating art in all mediums including oil, acrylic, wood, and glass. It also includes a variety of wall art and multiple tabletop art that will be displayed. Eric Johnston, celebrated for his oil pastel drawings, will judge the entries and be on hand to announce the winners of the cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Johnston earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Lamar University then a master’s degree at Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. There will be complimentary wine, punch, and light appetizers at the opening reception. The exhibit is on display through Sept. 4.
