A July 6 fire claimed the life of a Silsbee man, the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) reported.

Sheriff Mark Davis stated that, around 10 a.m., the Silsbee Volunteer Fire Department was called to a house fire in the 2500 block of Alexander Road, north of Silsbee. When firefighters arrived, the home was engulfed in flames. First responders later located the body of Clifton Charles Wright, 72, inside the home.

Pct. 2 Justice of the Peace Charles Brewer ordered an autopsy. HCSO and fire officials are working to determine the cause and origin of the blaze.
