Port Arthur Mayor Thurman Bartie announced he will join elected leaders from across the country to explore solutions to flooding and rising sea levels while building relationships with members of Congress on May 20-22 in Washington, D.C.

“Port Arthur knows first-hand the impact of flooding and we know how tough it can be to navigate federal funding,” stated Bartie.

The three-day Local Elected Leaders Summit, hosted by the American Flood Coalition, will begin with a reception and dinner, followed by a full day of programming and an evening meet-and-greet with members of Congress.

The summit will conclude with policy-focused meetings with members of Congress on Capitol Hill.
