Plane lands safe on highway

A small older model airplane made an emergency landing due to mechanical problems in the western portion of Hardin County, reported Sheriff Mark Davis. 

According to Davis, Hardin County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputies located the plane after the pilot made a successful landing on FM 1293, just north of FM 787 near Thicket. There were no reports of Injuries. 

The aircraft suffered a left aileron torn off and a damaged windshield after the emergency landing. The sheriff reported the plane was moved from the roadway. HCSO deputies secured the scene until the arrival of Texas Department of Public Safety and federal authorities.
