Due to inclement weather, the Tree Planting Day has been rescheduled to Saturday, June 8, from 9 a.m. to noon. The event will take place at Tyrrell Park Nature Center, located at 3930 Babe Zaharias Dr. in Beaumont. Participants are encouraged to join as individuals or groups to help plant over 400 trees in Tyrrell Park and surrounding areas.
The day will begin with refreshments and an overview by Parks and Greenspace Director Kenneth Raggette, followed by a group photo. Volunteers will then be divided into groups to plant trees. No experience is necessary, and pre-dug holes will be provided. Attendees should bring essentials like bug spray, sunscreen, gloves and any gardening tools they have.
