May 2, the Junior League of Beaumont granted $106,149 to Southeast Texas nonprofits, reinforcing their ongoing commitment to community betterment.

Among those receiving grants from the Junior League, member Amanda Heironimus shared, the Shorkey Center was lauded with a $50,000 surprise grant, which directly correlates to assistance needed to keep the center going, as well as $15,000 to Stable Spirits for a road to lead into the facility.

According to the Junior League, this year’s goals focused on investing in their members and leadership development.

“Over the course of this year, that investment has returned 10-fold,” the group shared in a public statement. “When we invest in our members, they turned around and invested in Junior League. Through governance committees, fundraisers and membership initiatives, our members have fully funded and supported our outward facing work — our Community Council.”
