Good News: Picnic on the Lawn

The McFaddin-Ward House (MWH) invited the community to enjoy the historic beauty of the home and grounds with its annual Picnic on the Lawn on Saturday, Oct. 23. in Beaumont. This event was held in conjunction with the inaugural “Museum Madness Weekend,” Oct. 22-24.

Attendees had the option of bringing their lawn chairs, blankets, and favorite food and drink, or purchasing food and treats on-site from Tacos La Bamba and Kona Ice. Live music was provided by the band, Noisy Clutch, and lawn games were available. Beaumont Art League plein air painters were on-scene, allowing the public to experience their creative process as it unfolds.

“Museum Madness Weekend” is hosted by the following area museums: Art Museum of Southeast Texas, Beaumont Children’s Museum, Beaumont Heritage Society, Dishman Art Museum, Edison Museum, McFaddin-Ward House Museum, Museum of the Gulf Coast, Spindletop-Gladys City Boomtown Museum, and Texas Energy Museum. Exhibitions, a movie night, a pumpkin walk and other family-friendly activities round out this fun-filled weekend in Jefferson County.
