Beaumont city offices will be closed for Good Friday on April 3, announced the city March 30.

According to a news release, city offices, including Water Customer Service and all library branches, will be closed for the holiday. Libraries will also be closed Saturday, April 4.

There will be no interruption in garbage, heavy trash, yard waste collection or landfill services on Friday, April 3, and the city’s landfill will be open during regularly scheduled hours.

At its regular meeting March 24, the Beaumont City Council approved a measure ultimately meant to combat homelessness in the city.

The council voted unanimously to authorize City Manager Kyle Hayes to apply to the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) for Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
