 Monday, Oct. 12, 2015, at approximately 10:13 p.m., the Port Arthur Police Department received a call from a 46-year-old female reporting she had been shot.

According to PAPD press release, initially the female did not know her exact location, but was able to give enough information to lead officers to find her near the 1800 block of W. Highway 73. She was found to be suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.


The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the vehicle involved in a fatal auto-pedestrian accident that claimed the life of an Orange resident Friday, Oct. 9.

In a news release, DPS Trooper Stephanie Davis reports 41-year-old Chad Eugene Shields of Orange was struck and killed by an unknown vehicle near mile marker 877 on eastbound Interstate 10 in Orange at about 12:40 a.m. Friday morning.

In a pretrial hearing Oct. 2, Clinton Johnson pleaded guilty to a 3rd degree felony of causing serious bodily injury to an animal with a deadly weapon. Johnson made headlines recently for stabbing a dog twice with a blade that was attached to a portion of PVC pipe.
