According to a statement issued on Wednesday, Oct. 3, by Vidor ISD, the school district has received approval to rebuild the Oak Forest Elementary school that was heavily damaged in Hurricane Harvey.

Sheriff Mark Davis with the Hardin County Sheriff's Office has released the name of a woman arrested Wednesday, Oct. 3, following her disruption in a Hardin County JP courtroom.

News Release from Chief Rod Carroll, Vidor PD -

On Tuesday, October 2, at approximately 2:58 p.m., the Vidor Police Department Dispatch Center received a call of a major accident on Hwy. 12 at FM 1132 (Evangeline Dr.). Responding units found two vehicles involved. One driver was pronounced deceased on the scene by Justice of the Peace Rodney Price. The second driver was transported in stable condition by Acadian Ambulance Service to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital. At the current time, the accident is under further investigation.

Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School senior Summer Broussard was named the 2018 Homecoming Queen during the Kelly vs. Deweyville game on Friday, October 5.  Presenting Broussard with her crown was Kelly’s 2017 Homecoming Queen, Emma Brasher.

Two unidentified males stole a welding machine from a Beaumont property on Friday, Sept. 21.

According to a statement from Jefferson County Sherriff’s Office, the two suspects committed the burglary of a building in the 2500 block of Westpine Road in Beaumont. Both suspects were seen on surveillance cameras walking up to the residence checking to see if anyone was home and checking to see if the doors were unlocked. The suspects were seen driving a full size white SUV. The suspects stole a welding machine from a storage building on the back of the property.
