The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO) and Crime Stoppers of Southeast Texas is requesting the public's help finding 31-year-old Christina Marie Pollard of Port Neches.

Wednesday, Sept. 14, Port Arthur city officials will be hosting a Meet and Greet with four police chief finalist candidates.

This is the first time the city has held an event like this, according to city manager Brian McDougal.

Forty‐six applicants originally applied for the position.

Bees are said to be responsible for one out of every three bites of food we eat. The Aggie horticulture website states, “Forget about honey, pollen and royal jelly. Just think of a world without beans, tomatoes, onions and carrots, not to mention the hundreds of other vegetables, oilseeds and fruits that are dependent upon bees for pollination. And the livestock that are dependent upon bee-pollinated forage plants, such as clover.”

Kirbyville resident James Steven Dominy, 41, died as the result of injuries he sustained in a one-vehicle accident in Jasper County on Sept. 3, reports Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Stephanie Davis. Dominy was not wearing his seatbelt, stated Davis in a news release.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission has adopted new regulations for the statewide oyster fishery that reduce commercial possession limits and establish additional harvest restrictions. The new rules affect both the recreational and commercial harvest of oysters.

The new rules reduce the commercial possession limit of oysters from 50 sacks to 40 sacks per day and close Sunday to the commercial and recreational harvest of oysters from Nov. 1 to April 30 every year.

A Southeast Texan woman reported missing Aug. 23 was found by Beaumont police after an exhaustive week-long search, the department reported Tuesday, Aug. 30. Krista Ireland Parma, wife and mother of five, was reported last seen at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont in the early hours of Tuesday morning, Aug. 23, leaving medical care against the advice of physicians. Her family, concerned for her well-being, enlisted social media, mainstream media, police support and a private investigator to search for their loved one, who they said was battling alcoholism.

A Jefferson County jury has sentenced 26-year-old Jamail Wallace to 20 years in prison for the 2014 armed robbery of Beaumont’s AT&T store on Dowlen Road. According to prosecutor Luke Nichols, the trial began the week of Aug. 22 and concluded Monday, Aug. 29, with a guilty verdict and 20-year prison sentence handed down by a jury.

Troopers with the Texas Department of Public safety responded to a multiple vehicle accident that injured several people and shut down Highway 63 in Jasper Aug. 28, Trooper Stephanie Davis reports.

According to a news release from Davis, DPS received a report of a crash involving multiple vehicles on Highway 63, approximately one mile outside of Jasper city limits, at approximately 4:25 p.m.
