Surrounding communities will partake in celebrating Independence Day on Monday, July 4, including Port Arthur, Nederland, Orange, Vidor and Silsbee.

From 6-8 p.m. on July 4, the Carl Parker Center (1800 Lakeshore Dr.) on the campus of Lamar State College Port Arthur will host a live musical performance from the Aces Blue Band along with kids’ activities like a video gaming truck, balloons, ice cream, photobooth and face painting. Fireworks will begin at 9:15 p.m.

Doornbos Park, at 2301 Avenue H., in the heart of Nederland, has a musical performance by Still Cruisin’ at 7 p.m. followed by fireworks at 9 p.m.

The Riverside Pavilion (708 Simmons Dr.) will be the hub of activity in Orange beginning at 5 p.m. Local talent Logan Soileau is scheduled to perform at 7 p.m. with a fireworks’ display at 9 p.m. Concessions and children’s activities will be available on site.

Fun and fireworks in Vidor on Monday, July 4, as Maplecrest Baptist Church at 17684 Interstate 10 will feature live music by the Lone Star Winds plus other guests at 7 p.m.

Hardin County residents can attend Fourth of July celebrations at Silsbee High School (1575 Highway 96 N) at 4 p.m. Food, crafts along with performances by the Silsbee High School Tigerettes and cheerleaders. The fireworks’ show will begin at dark.
