Christopher M. Carmon Thomas

A 23-year-old Houston man has been sentenced to federal prison for robbing a bank in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney John Malcolm Bales on Feb. 4.  

According to a news release, Christopher M. Carmon Thomas pleaded guilty on July 29, 2014 to bank robbery and was sentenced to 37 months in federal prison Feb. 4 by U.S. District Judge Thad Heartfield. Thomas was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $2,309.00.

A possible love triangle reportedly led to a stabbing that resulted in injury to a 19-year-old Beaumont man.

According to a news release from the Beaumont Police Department, the young victim was stabbed after arguing with another man over a female. BPD reports that at about 9:08 on January 30, patrol officers responded to the Regent I Apartment in the 1700 block of Regent in reference to a man with a knife.  When officers arrived, they found a 19-year-old Beaumont man suffering from a stab wound.


A string of pharmacy burglaries along the I-10 corridor has the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Crime Stoppers requesting the public’s assistance in solving the crimes. Family Pharmacy, 207 East Railroad, China was burglarized in the early hours of Wednesday, Dec. 17. Deputies responded to an alarm and upon arrival they found that entry had been made into the building via the front door. The thieves appeared to have targeted the pharmacy removing a quantity of narcotic medications. This burglary is similar to a burglary that occurred on the previous day, Dec.
