Can you imagine what it would be like to spend Christmas in a turn-of-the-century oil boomtown? Spindletop-Gladys City Boomtown Museum, on the campus of Lamar University, will embrace the joy of the season with “Christmas in Boomtown,” an event will allow visitors to participate in ways many celebrated the season more than a century ago.

Spindletop Center’s Military Veteran Peer Network (MVPN) of Southeast Texas will celebrate local veterans on Saturday, November 19, 2016 with a Car and Bike Show from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Center’s South Campus, 2750 S. 8th St.

Vidor Police recovered a stolen motorcycle during a traffic stop on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 2:24 a.m.

Vidor Police officers were on patrol in the 1000 block of Old Highway 90 when they stopped a motorcycle displaying an expired Texas license plate. The officers ran a check with the Vidor dispatcher and found the motorcycle was listed as stolen through the Orange County Sheriff’s office.

A home in the 500 block of Pine Burr Street in Vidor was being burglarized Wednesday, Nov. 9, according to the Vidor Police Department, when the owner arrived home from work.

The homeowner described the suspects as a white male, a black male, and one black female. The suspects fled on foot, and the 17-year-old black female was caught by a bystander who saw the homeowner chasing the suspects down the road.
