Eastern District of Texas U.S. Attorney John M. Bales and Jefferson County District Attorney Cory Crenshaw announced Friday, Oct. 31, the addition of a new partner agency to the multi-jurisdictional Task Force.  Attorney General of Texas Greg Abbott will dedicate resources from the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit to investigate and prosecute crimes related to Medicaid fraud which are uncovered by the Task Force.  The mission of the Task Force remains to investigate and prosecute major crimes – more specifically, violent crime and crimes related to the abuse of public trust.

More than 30 grams of cocaine was recovered and one man arrested during the execution of a search warrant in Orange on Oct. 30, police report.

Deputies with the Orange County Sheriff's Office, assisted by officers with the Orange Police Department, seized 19 pounds of marijuana, two handguns, a digital scale, and nearly $7,000 in cash while executing a search warrant at a residence in the 3100 block of Oakmont Drive in Orange on Oct. 29.

Even after numerous public intoxication arrests of suspected phencyclidine users in Orange, the steadily rising trend of the deadly drug’s use within the city shows no signs of slowing. Police officers with the Orange Police Department made three arrests of suspected PCP users in two separate incidents over the course of two days, Oct. 23 and Oct. 24, according to incident reports.
